Welcome to J D Peterson and Associates. We have been selling the Yaskawa family of drives for over 16 years, starting with IDM Controls, moving to MagneTek, and now all the companies are united by Yaskawa Electric America.
We also offer MTE Corporation line reactors and Matrix filters for variable frequency drive critical applications.

Jack Peterson started working for H B Shephard Company, in 1971, as a Sales Engineer. Here, Jack worked directly with Hugh Shephard, the Baltimore Aircoil Company Representative, learning of heat rejection, fan power, fluid flow, and modernized engineering findings from one of the best in the business.
From 1978 - 1987, Jack worked for American Air Filter, expanding his knowledge on water-source heat pumps, filtration, and hospital air handling units.
Later, Jack became regional manager of The Compressor Store, where he worked to learn the refrigerant cycle & system interface inside and out.
In 1991, Jack started selling IDM controls VFDs, manufactured by Yaskawa. He has been in the industry ever since, starting the J D Peterson Company in April 1998 where he continuously puts all of his HVAC knowledge into action to provide the best service possible.

Maggie Peterson, Jack's daughter, came on board in August 2012. Maggie handles large project bidding and runs the parts division of J.D. Peterson Company. Prior to joining the company, Maggie worked as a marketing research specialist for medical devices & pharma products. Since coming on board, she's worked one on one with Jack to learn the trade and takes electrical engineering classes in her spare time. Together, she and Jack handle all start-ups and maintenance of the drives.
